Giving Back to the community
Saturday December 19, 2009
Part of the net proceeds will be donated to the Hall Fund, founded in 1801
Ten Thousand Villages is one of the world's oldest and largest Fair Trade organizations bringing you beautiful jewelry, home decor, gifts and more. Fair trade enables artisans in Third World countries to earn a fair wage which provides the opportunity for a better quality of life.
On 12/19 we are hosting our second "Giving Back" Event. Since our local communities have been so supportive of us and our cause we have planned a special "Shopping Day" in honor of The Hall Education Fund of New Brunswick where part of our net proceeds will be donated to the Hall Fund.
The Hall Fund was founded in 1801 to "educate poor children in New Brunswick." In 1814, the Trustees of the Hall Fund opened Nwe Brunswick's first public school. Today the Hall Fund provides college scholarship money to high school graduates who are residents of New Brunswick, primarily on the basis of financial need.
Please join us on December 19th and shop Fair Trade while supporting our local communities.
Refreshments will be served.

Vox Fidelis, a semiprofessional choir, will explore the music of three composers from the early sixteenth century at St. Paul's church, 502 Raritan Ave. The concert is free.
Saturday December 19, 2009
07:30PM
Vox Fidelis, a semiprofessional choir, will explore the music of three composers from the early sixteenth century, including some of the most beautiful and reflective works written for the Advent/Christmas season. Flier HERE
Some of the pieces will be familiar favorites, such as In dulce jubilo and Joseph lieber, Joseph mein, and others will hopefully become new favorites, including the motet and mass setting, Pastores quidnam vidistis, based on the tales of shepherds as they return from worshiping the Christ child.
The music will offer a much needed respite of beauty and inspiration to round off anyone’s busy holiday season. Come hear the music and the story of the Nativity. There is no charge for this concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Saint Paul’s is at 502 Raritan Avenue. Parking is free and the church is handicapped accessible.
Vox Fidelis is a semi-professional choir, founded in 2005 by Timothy J. Smith. It specializes in sacred Renaissance polyphony, its cultivation and promotion, and its place in traditional sacred liturgy. Vox prepares concerts and leads various church services throughout the tri-state area, including Vespers, Lessons and Carols, Lenten meditation, and music for Benediction. Vox also leads a regular Compline series at Christ Church in Bordentown, NJ. The members of Vox Fidelis are friends and colleagues who have met through the Rutgers University Collegium and from membership in local church choirs.
